Biography :

I am proud to represent Southwestern College as a professor. For over 27 years I have had the blessing to serve as an educator and coach in a variety of educational settings such as elementary, middle school, high school and now at the community college level. My career spans a wonderful 3 decades of experience teaching physical education, coaching wrestling and football, and as a recreation therapist. I served as an adjunct professor at Southwestern College. I truly enjoy teaching and coaching and I am passionate about assisting my students and student-athletes in their success. I recently earned my Masters of Art degree from Fresno Pacific University, Therapeutic Recreation Certification from Wisconsin-Milwaukee University, and lastly earned my Bachelors' of Science from San Diego State University. The impact that education has had on my life and family is enormous. My advocacy for education, health, sports, recreation therapy and athletics in the South Bay Community is what inspires me to continue to develop as a professional and to serve my students and athletes alike.

DR. ALAIN L. FYMAT, PhD, PhD is a medical-physical scientist and an educator. He is the current President/CEO and Professor at the International Institute of Medicine & Science with a previous appointment as EVP/COO and Professor at the Weil Institute of Critical Care Medicine, California, U.S.A. He was formerly Professor of Radiology, Radiological Sciences, Radiation Oncology, Critical Care Medicine and Physics at several U.S. and European Universities. Earlier, he was Deputy Director (Western Region) of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (Office of Research Oversight). At the Loma Linda Veterans Affairs Medical Center, he was Scientific Director of Radiology, Director of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Center and, for a time, Acting Chair of Radiology. Previously, he was also Director of the Division of Biomedical and Biobehavioral Research at the University of California at Los Angeles/Drew University of Medicine and Science. He is also Health Advisor to the American Heart & Stroke Association, Coachella Valley Division, California. He is a frequent Keynote Speaker and International Organizing Committee member at several international scientific conferences. He has lectured extensively in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Africa. He has published ~ 425 scholarly scientific publications and books. He is also Editor-in-Chief, Honorable Editor or Editor of 54 scientific Journals. Donna is a Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta, with appointments in the Faculty of Medicine and University of Limerick. He completed his MBBS from King Saud University 1992/1993, Arab Board of Family Medicine 2001, then Palliative Care from Canada and King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center at 2006 and 2008. He is a member of many affiliations and societies like American Academy of Family Physicians and Saudi Society of Family and Community Medicine since 2001. In addition to that, he is a Member of Middle East Academy of Medicine of Aging (MEAMA) since 2003, Member of International Association for Hospice and Palliative care since 2006, Member of Saudi Oncology Society since 2008, member of Saudi Pain Society since 2009, Member of Group on Educational Affairs (GEA) for Medical Education Research Program (MERC) since 2011, and Member of Arab Society of palliative care since 2014 till present. Dr. Alshaqi is a trainer and external examiner of Palliative Medicine of Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and Acting director of Saudi Society of Palliative Care since 2013 till present.

Sibel Dogan is an academician in the Istanbul Medipol University. She is the head of the Elderly Care Program, the coordinator of palliative care courses and consultant of the palliative care workshop in the university. She has academic experience for 14 years. After her masters degree in psychiatric nursing, her doctorate work focused on psycho-oncology. She received her Ph.D. degree in 2012. She currently provides psychosocial support services for adult cancer patients and their families in the oncology departmant. She has participated in many studies about hospices in USA, Canada and European Countries. She teaches in undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate programs related to palliative care and end of life problems, health psychology, geriatric psychiatry, mental health, psychiatric nursing, interpersonal communication and psycho-oncology. Dr. Dogan is currently member of the Ethical Committee in the Istanbul Medipol University.

She has published more than 90 papers, 20 grant projects, eight books as an editor and author, and more than 120 presentation in the national and international. She is also invited speaker more than 60 congress and symposium. She has been working as a Director of Nursing Services at Hacettepe University Hospitals between 2012-2016 and Founding Dean of Faculty of Nursing. She is member of national and international nurse’s organizations such as INDEN and Sigma Theta Tau.

Claire Oppert currently holds the Aptitude Certificate for the position of Professor of Cello and since 1999 has been teaching at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Départemental Claude Debussy of Saint Germain en Laye. In collaboration with Howard Buten, Oppert hosted and created a "cello workshop" for young people with autism in the Adam Shelton Center in Saint Denis from 1997 to 2003 before obtaining her University Diploma in Art Therapy at the Faculty of Medicine of Tours in 2011. Since then, Claire Oppert has worked as a music art therapist, practicing in the Chronic Pain & Palliative Care Unit of the ‘Hôpital Sainte Perine’ in Paris, directed by Dr. Jean-Marie Gomas. From 2011 to 2015, she also pursued music therapy at the Protected Living Unit in the Korian-Jardins; Alésia EHPAD in Paris, helping people suffering from chronic pain Alzheimer’s. Presently, Oppert hosts art therapy courses in palliative care at the Faculty of Medicine of Lille within the framework of the DU of palliative care at several University. As a result of her research into the links between Art and Care, Claire Oppert regularly presents her research at numerous congresses of medicine and art therapy as well as international conferences worldwide. She is France’s reference art therapist in the international relations group of the European Association for Palliative Care (EAPC).

Responsibility

The organizers hold no responsibilities or liabilities of the personal articles of attendees at the venue against any kind of theft, loss, damage, due to any reason whatsoever. Delegates are entirely responsible for the safety of their own belongings.

Insurance

No insurance, of any kind, is included along with the registration in any of the events of the organization.

Transportation

Please note that transportation and parking are the responsibility of the registrant, Allied Academies will not be liable for any actions howsoever related to transportation and parking.

Press/Media

Press permission must be obtained from Allied Academies Conference Organizing Committee prior to the event. The press will not quote speakers or delegates unless they have obtained their approval in writing. The Allied Academies is an objective third-party nonprofit organization and this conference is not associated with any commercial meeting company.

Requesting an Invitation Letter

For security purposes, a letter of invitation will be sent only to those individuals who had registered for the conference after payment of the complete registration fee. Once registration is complete, please contact geriatrics@alliedglobalevents.com to request a personalized letter of invitation, if not received until one month before the scheduled date of the event.

All the bank charges applicable during a refund will be deducted from the account of the participant.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations or modifications of registration must be made in writing to geriatrics@alliedglobalevents.com

If due to any reason, Allied academies postpone an event on the scheduled date, the participant is eligible for a credit of 100% of the registration fee paid. This credit shall only be used for another event organized by Allied academies within a period of one year from the date of rescheduling.

Postponement of event

If due to any reason, Allied academies postpone an event and the participant is unable or unwilling to attend the conference on rescheduled dates, he/she is eligible for a credit of 100% of the registration fee paid. This credit shall only be used for another event organized by Allied academies within a period of one year from the date of rescheduling.

Transfer of registration

All registrations, after payment of complete registration fee, are transferable to other persons from the same organization, if in case the person is unable to attend the event. Request for transfer of registration must be made by the registered person in writing to geriatrics@alliedglobalevents.com. Details must include the full name of the replaced new registrant, their title, contact phone number, and email address. All other registration details will be assigned to the new person unless otherwise specified.

Registration can be transferred to one conference to another conference of Allied academies if the person is unable to attend one of the conferences.

However, Registration cannot be transferred if intimated within 14 days of the respective conference.

The transferred registrations will not be eligible for Refund.

Visa Information

Keeping in view of increased security measures, we would like to request all the participants to apply for Visa as soon as possible.

Allied academies will not directly contact embassies and consulates on behalf of visa applicants. All delegates or invitees should apply for Business Visa only.

Important note for failed visa applications: Visa issues are not covered under the cancellation policy of Allied academies, including the inability to obtain a visa. 

Refund Policy:

If the registrant is unable to attend and is not in a position to transfer his/her participation to another person or event, then the following refund policies apply:

Keeping in view of advance payments towards Venue, Printing, Shipping, Hotels and other overhead charges, following Refund Policy Orders are available:

  • Before 60 days of the conference: Eligible for Full Refund after deduction of $100 towards service Fee.
  • Within 60-30 days of Conference: Eligible for 50% of payment Refund
  • Within 30 days of Conference: Not eligible for Refund
  • E-Poster Payments will not be refunded.

Accommodation Cancellation Policy:

Accommodation Service Providers (Hotels) have their own cancellation policies which are applicable when cancellations are made less than 30 days prior to arrival. If in case the registrant wishes to cancel or amend the accommodation, he/ she is expected to inform the organizing authorities on a prior basis. Allied academies will advise the registrant to ensure complete awareness about the cancellation policy of your accommodation provider, prior to cancellation or modification of their booking.
